What do the shipping fees cover when purchasing a Microbiome Explorer test?
The shipping fees charged at purchase relate to domestic shipping within the UK — specifically, the cost of returning your sample to our Bristol laboratory. International shipping costs and any import duties applicable in your country aren't included in the test price. |
Why is pricing different between regions?
Pricing reflects the realities of operating in different markets — including regulatory requirements, laboratory infrastructure, logistics costs, and local market conditions. We're committed to providing the most accessible pricing possible in each region, while maintaining the quality and compliance standards our testing requires. |
Will commission be paid to doctors?
No — commission can't be paid to medical doctors when they're acting within their professional role. This is in line with industry regulations, and it also applies to nurses, pharmacists, and dietitians. |
Is Microbiome Explorer Comprehensive covered by health insurance?
Coverage depends on your individual health insurance policy. The best step is to contact your health insurance provider directly to confirm whether Microbiome Explorer Comprehensive is covered. |
Do you offer discounts for low income or concession card holders?
Not currently — but it's something we regularly review as part of our commitment to accessibility. As an alternative, we offer Pay in 4 through PayPal, which lets you spread the cost across four interest-free payments. |
Can clients pay in instalments?
Yes — clients can pay in one lump sum or split the cost across three instalments, whichever suits them best. |
I've changed my mind - can I get a refund?
We understand stool testing can feel like a big step, and yes — refunds are available in line with our terms and conditions. Have a look at our T&Cs and refund policy, and our customer support team will guide you through the process. |
My kit arrived damaged — can I get a replacement?
Absolutely, and there's no charge for it. If your Microbiome Explorer kit arrives damaged, just contact our customer support team and we'll get a replacement out to you promptly at no cost. |
How are clinics supported with Microbiome Explorer?
Microbiome Explorer is built around a practitioner-first model. Clinic support includes a dedicated practitioner portal — where you can access all patient reports, manage orders, and find educational resources. You also have access to clinical guides, case studies, and webinars through the portal, plus a clinical support team for result interpretation queries. Higher-volume practices have account management support too. |
I'd like a gut test but don't have a practitioner — what are my options?
Microba Connect is a limited trial program that gives you simple, guided access to Microba's clinical-grade microbiome testing with the support of an experienced, independent practitioner. The process starts with a short online form to understand your needs, and then we match you with a suitable practitioner. It's designed to make the journey easy and streamlined. |
